Self confidence is a practiced attitude that does not only apply to our current situation, but something we need to carry with us throughout life. Self confidence is important when practicing a healthy mindset and can help ourselves stay clear-minded and focussed and have stronger relationships with others. 5 Habits to Build Self Confidence

 

1. Build a Self Care Routine.

 

Self care is not just a trend. Humans have practiced self care for generations (we don’t shower every day for nothing). To help improve and maintain self confidence, we need to make ourselves feel mentally and physically worthy, and who better to start making us feel that way than ourselves? Taking time out each day to care for our own needs means we find value in ourselves. Nothing is more meaningful than prioritizing your necessities so you feel self-worthy.

 

Figure out what resonates with you by testing a few things out. Try a range of things in the morning that helps encourage the mind, body, and spirit. Make time in the evening to properly prepare yourself for restful sleep. Decide what self care routines are important, work them into your schedule, and prioritize them.

 

2. Practice intellectual conversations and questions things you do not understand.

 

It’s so important to build accreditation for ourselves. The best way is through speaking up and expressing our voice. It draws trust from other people because they begin to build assurance in our ideas, opinions, and feelings. Remember, actively listen and provide opinions only when necessary. Allow for conversations to flow in a natural way.

 

Don’t forget, in some situations, it’s equally important to ask questions. If we do not understand something or do not agree with someone, it’s good practice to speak up and challenge topics in a positive way. It not only adds to building accreditation, asking questions allows us to grow strong listening skills and form intellectual responses. It also helps us form our own opinions and have confidence in what we stand for. In turn this will give us room to say yes or no to different things. Practicing self confidence means understanding ourselves and our own values. You cannot build those values if we do not challenge what is given to us.

 

3. Practice making decisions.

 

Part of improving self confidence is not having doubt when it’s time to make a decision. Whether we decide something based on our heart or mind, we need to be able to trust ourselves. If we can trust ourselves, others around us will trust us too. The decision making process is unique to each of us. It could take us a few weeks to make up my mind about something life changing. But, the important thing to note is that we know we have to make up our mind and we must hold ourselves accountable for it. We cannot wait for others to make a decisions for us. We are our own person.

 

4. Practice activities you love.

 

In the midst of our busy schedules, it’s so important that we practice what we love. It helps bring joy into our life when we live in a daily routine. It reminds us where are strengths and interests are and gives us a better, well-rounded insight into ourselves. In turn, we’ll practice more interesting conversations, a stronger presence in the now, and build the ability to step away from the feeling gf overwhelm.

 

5. Turn fear into motivation.

 

Fear acts as a scary emotion that often times blocks us from living life to our fullest potential. Instead of stopping when we feel fear, find ways to turn it into motivation. We tend to get stuck in one perspective thinking, but as we learn how to show self confidence, we will begin to start thinking from multiple perspectives and have more of an intellectual understanding of the ideas around us. Instead of looking at fear as a roadblock, use fear to remind you where this opportunity could take you. Create action plans and learn to push yourself to overcome feelings of fear.
